Immigration Decision

The Supreme Court announced yesterday that it had deadlocked 4-4, in a case challenging President Obama’s immigration plan. The underlying case appealed to the Supreme Court, United States v. Texas, No. 15-674, concerned an executive action by the President to allow unauthorized immigrants who are the parents of US citizens or of lawful permanent residents to apply for a program that would spare them from deportation and provide them with work permits.
